These services may be necessary for functions such as displaying maps, selecting departure and destination points, calculating routes, identifying meeting points, estimating travel times, displaying traffic information, supporting carpool matching and providing border-related information.

Some map or location providers may use cookies or similar technologies. Where a third-party map service places non-essential cookies or uses information for purposes beyond providing the functionality requested by the User, RideBorder will seek to apply the appropriate consent mechanism where required. Device-level access to precise location may also require separate permission through your browser, smartphone or application settings. RideBorder may use cookies or similar technologies to authenticate Users securely. These technologies may help us confirm that a User is logged in, protect accounts against unauthorised access, manage login sessions, support secure account recovery and detect potentially fraudulent activity. The RideBorder cookie banner allows Users to make a genuine choice regarding optional cookies. Users are able to accept all optional cookies, reject optional cookies, or manage cookie preferences.

Rejecting optional cookies will not prevent the placement of cookies that are strictly necessary for RideBorder to operate. RideBorder does not make access to essential carpooling functionality conditional upon accepting unnecessary analytics or advertising cookies, except where otherwise legally permitted.

RideBorder provides a "Cookie settings" link accessible from the website so that Users can review and change their preferences at any time. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing lawfully carried out before consent was withdrawn.

The retention of analytics and marketing cookies, where used, depends on the relevant provider and RideBorder's configuration.

RideBorder will seek to avoid retaining cookie identifiers longer than reasonably necessary for their stated purpose.

RideBorder may update this Cookie Policy from time to time, including where new cookies are introduced, a new service provider is integrated, analytics technologies change, payment or mapping services change, Platform functionality changes, applicable laws or regulatory guidance change, or our privacy practices change.
